Your First Visit at South Sound Dental Care
Not knowing what to expect is one of the biggest sources of dental anxiety. Here is exactly what a first visit looks like at South Sound Dental Care.
- We start at your pace. Our team introduces themselves and lets you get comfortable before anything begins. There is no rush.
- A complete dental exam. Dr. Khan will examine your teeth and gums, screen for oral cancer, and complete a TMJ evaluation.
- X-rays if needed. We take digital X-rays to check for hidden decay or other concerns not visible during the visual exam. We always explain why before we proceed.
- A treatment plan review. Before you leave, we walk through what we found, answer your questions, and outline any recommended next steps — with no pressure.
What to Bring
- Your dental insurance card, if you have one
- Any panoramic X-rays taken within the past six months
- Completed patient registration forms (also available in the office)
Plan for approximately one hour for your initial visit.

No Insurance?
Our Healthy Smiles Membership Plan gives you access to quality care at predictable costs — no deductible, no surprises.
New Patients Without Insurance
You’re welcome here with or without dental insurance. Your first visit includes a complete dental evaluation, X-rays, an oral cancer screening and a TMJ assessment, and you’ll leave with a clear picture of your oral health and a treatment plan if one is needed.
We explain any costs before treatment begins. Ask about the Healthy Smiles Membership Plan, which covers routine cleanings, exams and necessary X-rays, or about financing through CareCredit.
Common Patient Questions
What happens on my first visit?
